About Madison

One of my favorite things is the "aha" moment.

The moment when you get that piano riff just right or hit the high note that'll nail that audition.

No matter your personal music goals, I can take you there and hit every "aha" on the way.

With 20 years of musical/studio training, I have been formally teaching for four years now. My piano specialties are pop and jazz while my singing expertise encompasses studio vocals, musical theater, jazz, pop, indie, rock, and even barbershop.

When I'm not teaching, I'm working in studios writing for artists and film/tv placements.

If this sounds more like what you want to do, I offer songwriting mentorships and limited availability masterclasses.

I look forward to helping you on your musical journey!

-Madison Montgomery

My mom was a teacher and I've been volunteering with her schools for more than ten years. A few years back I started taking requests for private lessons and have found some of the deepest rewards in my students progress.

First I'll gauge your level of experience by having you play/sing through a couple songs.

Then we'll talk about where you want me to help take you.

Do you want to focus on pop?

Would you like to play piano and sing at the same time?

Do you want to play a song for a loved ones birthday coming up?

For Juliard?

The sky's the limit and I can help get you there!

I've worked with students ages 4-83.

My piano students range from beginner to intermediate while my songwriting sessions are for all levels.

I have a lot of experience working with disabled students and those with special needs.

I truly believe there is no hurdle we can't work our way through.

Talk to them!

Get to know what the teacher is like and see if that matches your flow.

I've recommended other teachers when the fit isn't right. It's all about finding an instructor you'll thrive with.

I recently placed my song "We Look Good" in the upcoming feature film "Why?"

Victoria and the Hyde Park fans look out for two of my co-written songs out later this year! (titles to be announced)

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what genre you want to dive into.

If you're not sure, go Spotify fishing and see what speaks to you.

Think about where you want music to take you. The options are endless so this is an important one.

Consider how much time it will take to achieve your goals and commit to dedication.

Discuss covid preventative measures (masks/hand sanitizer) to ensure a safer environment.
