About Jeff
Mardermusic provides music services for Broadway and other theatrical productions in the form of electronic music design and music performance. Music education is also a huge focus, and we offer private lessons and coaching in piano, keyboards, and synthesizer programming to beginners through advanced.
I began teaching at age 14 to people in my neighborhood and have continued teaching until the present day.
I have been working professionally as a pianist, conductor, and synthesizer programmer on Broadway and other theatrical productions worldwide for many years. This real world experience makes me uniquely qualified to share practical skills and information with my students.
I also frequently teach both privately and in classroom settings for adults and K-12, and I give concerts and workshops in New York State public schools as a teaching artist with the Bridge Arts Ensemble.

I always begin by listening carefully to the student as they explaing their experience, their needs, and their goals. It's important to tailor the study and the experience to each individual specific to what they're looking to acheive.
I believe in making the process focused, fun, and flexible. We will work on practice techniques to enable the student to learn on their own, and will focus on areas of study specific to the student's goals.
I have worked with beginner through advanced students of all ages.
It's important to find a teacher with whom you connect and who listens to your needs as a student. You must both be on the same page with respect to goals and expectations.
During a recent artistic residency with the Bridge Arts Ensemble, I had the opportunity to share music with a group of pre-school students. When we taught the students about our instruments and played various pieces for them, I loved seeing their sense of curiousity and wonder, and it was such a pleasure to see the smiles on their faces as they had the experience of hearing live music for the first time.
