About Karen

Experience your natural musicality with the remarkable Australian-developed Simply Music approach. Simply Music is a revolutionary piano and keyboard program that offers a breakthrough in music education.

This unique method has adults, children, teens, and seniors playing great-sounding blues, classical, contemporary and accompaniment pieces – immediately – from their very first lessons.

Karen’s Piano Studio offers piano and keyboard lessons for students of all ages and abilities. We’re located in downtown San Rafael and parking is conveniently available at the studio.

My musical background includes traditional piano lessons all through grammar school, flute through middle school, and many years of Simply Music piano lessons as an adult. I've sung in choirs, played in a rock and roll dance band and been a member of several dance troupes. Music and dance continue to be an enriching and satisfying part of my everyday life.

Students will typically attend a Free Introductory Session where I talk about Simply Music, show you how we teach, and answer all questions about how lessons work and the studio runs. There is no obligation to sign up for lessons when a student attends a Free Intro Session. If my studio feels like a good fit, then we look at scheduling possibilities.

I teach students of all ages:

Children 5 yrs and older, teens, seniors and adults.

Beginners and those with past experience.

Come to a Free Introductory Session! There’s no obligation and you’ll directly experience the great results we get with the Simply Music method.
