About Jacqueline
Hi! My name is Jacqueline Blackman. I have been a 7th grade social studies teacher for almost 10 years. I also have my masters in literacy education. As a teacher, I strive to make learning fun and engaging. Through cultivating a good rapport with my students, I am able to focus on building my students' confidence and skill set. I believe using the gradual release of responsibility method--I Do, We Do, You Do--ensures the success of my students. Let's work together to help your student grow!

Before diving into content, I like to spend some time getting to know my students. I love learning about their interests, hobbies, and strengths. It helps create a positive and comfortable working relationship. After getting to know my student, we then set a few goals for our tutoring sessions. Next, we dive in!
While I have taught middle school for almost 10 years, I have worked with a wide variety of students throughout my career. In college I student taught in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 3rd grade. In graduate school, I worked with elementary and high school readers.
