About Linda
Hello! My name is Linda, and I'm a senior at Rice University studying Psychology, Study of Women, Gender & Sexuality, and Biochemistry & Cell Biology. My academic experience in all three disciplines give me strong insight and knowledge on how to effectively write and communicate in many different styles.
For the past three years at Rice, I have worked as a writing coach at the Center for Academic and Professional Communication. In this role, I assist undergraduates, graduates, post-docs, faculty, and staff through one-on-one consultations. As 1 of 5 undergraduates on the team, I work with various modes of communication, from first-year research papers to personal statements and interviews.
However, even as a coach, I believe in continuous learning, and that applies to myself! To improve my coaching, I also attend workshops on writing pedagogy and supporting special groups, like ESL and STEM students.
I believe each of us has a compelling story to tell-- a story with the power to build connection, increase understanding, and move others to take action. Developing our skills as storytellers is a powerful and precious resource. I can't wait to get to work with you and hear yours!
