About Katie
I am passionate about students and their learning. I want them to enjoy learning as much as I do. I integrate all different types of learning styles into my teaching, visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
I have 8 years of teaching Spanish from middle school to high school in levels 1-AP. I have a high success rate on the Spanish AP exam and also am knowledgeable with the IB curriclum.
I'm currently a Title I Reading teacher and work with struggling readers in 1st and 2nd grade. I also will be completing my Reading Recovery Certification in May. I hold a PK-12 Spanish license as well as a PK-12 Reading Endorsement.
I enjoy seeing the progress that students make and the reaction on their faces when things that were once difficult for them start to get easier.
I am a second career teacher with a Journalism background. I decided to pursue my 2nd passion of teaching after being laid off from newspapers.
I have a PK-12 Spanish license with a Reading Endorsement and will have my certification in Reading Recovery in May. I have a high passage rate on the AP Spanish exam also with 4's and 5's. I'm also IB trained.
