About Amanda
My name is Amanda Schroder, I am a certified K-6 teacher in the State of New Jersey. I am moving to the Webster area at the end of the year. I have been a teacher for three years now, as I graduated from Montclair State University in December of 2017. I have taught second grade and kindergarten. Currently in New Jersey, I tutor for a few families, where I travel to their homes and work with them for either one or two hour increments. We work on basic skills, as well as, concepts that their parents request or areas where I see fit.
I am passionate, creative, silly, and I enjoy seeing progress with the students I work with. My overall goal, is to help my students reach their full potential, in areas they may be having difficulties with, or just in general.
I also am a softball coach. I provide private lessons, but I have also coached full teams. In New Jersey, I ran a K-1 softball clinic to help develop basic skills in a player, at an early age. I have also worked with players from 7-18 years old.
Please reach out with any questions, or if you would like to learn about prices or set up an interview. Thank you! :)
What I love the most, is seeing progress within my students. Being able to watch them grow and succeed is exciting for me. When they grasp a concept, it is a feeling of accomplishment fo myself that I was able to convey my message to them and they were able to apply it to their education and daily life.
I graduated from Montclair State University in December of 2017 and I started to work in a school district in March of 2018. I have always liked working with children and helping others, that was one of the main reasons, I became a teacher.
I am a certified K-6 teacher in New Jersey. I graduated from a very successful education program at Montclair State University, with a BA in child and family studies in a school setting. I am trained in a few different curriculums, as I taught in two different school districts.

I like to get to know my students during our first session. I like to discover their likes, and dislikes, strategies in which they learn, and concepts that they thrive in and may need some assistance in. I believe building a rapport with my students is essential to their success. For example, I was working with a new student and his mom told me that he was shy, so I asked what his interests were and I used the information that she provided at the beginning of our session and he instantly opened up to me. This allowed us to get to work right away and I started to see progress right from the start. I recieved very positive feedback from the parents.

She clearly knows how to engage my kids (age 6 and 9) and ensure their participation in the session!
Amanda has been a wonderful in-person tutor for our two boys, ages 7 yrs (2nd grader) and 5 yrs (Kindergarten), and has been supplementing our boys’ remote learning since the start of September. She is personable and thoughtful, taking the time to tailor the day’s lesson plan around each boy’s personality, interests, strength and weaknesses, and around what they might be learning that week in school. She is friendly, caring, flexible, and critically for us, willing to go the extra mile in taking safety precautions with respect to the coronavirus. We’ve been lucky to be able to work with Amanda!
Having decided to keep both of our children 100% remote for the start of the 2020 school year, we knew our family would need additional help and felt that Amanda was our #1 choice. We found comfort knowing that she was a former and local NJ school teacher who could assist our kids better than my husband or I, since we both work from home and have no experience teaching.
Amanda has an innate love for children and it's apparent in her personalized lessons and in the way she treats each child. She works on our kids' strengths and provides extra support with their weaknesses. We believe her help and guidance has contributed to their success in school.View more recommendations
