About James
I have taught saxophone lessons privately for the past fourteen years and have been the Assistant Professor of Saxophone at West Texas A&M University since 2016. I hold the following music degrees:
• Doctor of Musical Arts in Saxophone Performance from Texas Tech University (2013-2016)
• Master of Music in Saxophone Performance from West Texas A&M University (2010-2012)
• Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance and Composition from West Texas A&M University (2006-2010)

I believe strongly in the philosophy of teaching the musician, not just the instrument. My first job is to get to know the student and learn about their goals and aspirations. Once these are established, we will work together to find and weak areas in their development and come up with a path forward toward their specific goals.
