I am experienced, professional saxophone and piano teacher working with all ages and abilities.Learn how to play the piano or saxophone and read music through creative and enjoyable lessons. Play popular music just for fun, or measure your progress with graded ABRSM exams.
I usually teach for half an hour lesson slots anytime during the day, whichever suits you best! I am able to teach a variety of different styles, such as classical and Jazz.
I am giving lessons to children for Maths and English, as well as Alto Saxophone lessons at beginner and intermediate levels for any age. I am a good and versatile communicator with all ages and can teach visually, aurally, verbally, practically and logically; which ever is best for the student.
Pedagogies I use are that of El Sistema for groups and pedagogy / knowledge laid out in Deliège and Sloboda's Musical Beginnings and Swanwick's Music, Mind, Education, (Spiral of Musical Development in Children). Given the suitable teaching and environment any child can learn to play a musical instrument.
My method of teaching is to play along with students to ensure everything is in tune, in time and being played correctly. I will supply original sheet music and books with popular songs as well as educational booklets. For theory I bring books for all grades between 1 and 7 and go through all the parts necessary for an exam or for just casual playing.
My teaching method consists of letting my student realise what area or style suits them best and help them improve and delve more into that style while also giving them a consistent knowledge of musical theory (scales, arpeggios, music theory tests if required for exams), technique and diversity in their playing.
I teach from beginners to advanced, those who are serious and those who want fun! Along with making sure the student is benefiting from playing and performing, I make sure that their capability of music theory is level so they are able to tackle any piece of music.
A patient teacher who is passionate about inspiring younger people, encouraging them to play instruments. I would be comfortable teaching ability from beginner to advanced and in primary school / lower secondary school. I would provide music so students can practise at home and provide 30 minute lessons.
My teaching will take a step by step methodology to ensure every aspect of the instrument is covered to provide students with strong foundations to build upon. After each lesson students will be given individual targets and areas to take away before the next lesson. This enables students to reflect on the work in the lessons and further develop their musical knowledge.
My aim is to share my enthusiasm for music, make it fun to learn and draw on an individual's strengths to support their learning. I completed my BA (hons) in 1994 and have been self employed as a musician since 1997.
I have experience of working will all different kinds of student, therefore I teach according to the needs and age of the student.
I like to break down each topic and go over each section at a pace dictated by the tutee, then summarising the topic as a whole once I am confident of the student's level of understanding, providing a sense of cohesion. Depending on the age and experience of the student I also like to use fun activities and rhymes or mnemonics to help them remember important information.
I take a student centred approach - it's all about you! The beauty of individual lessons is we can tailor the structure to help you achieve your own goals in a way that works for you. If you're working towards external exams, that's fine too - I will advise you on what you need to do to meet the requirements.
My knowledge in music is firmly grounded in classical music, especially choral music, having been a chorister for 5 years and currently singing with the Rodolfus Choir in London. I am currently taking a degree in Music and hoping to teach music in the future.
Teaching private one on one lessons will be a new endeavour for me but one I am excited to get started with. I have past experience in group teaching on both drums and saxophone that I will use to my advantage. I have a range of musical styles that I have a good level of experience in from classical and contemporary to Jazz and Blues.
im a secondary pupil who is very happy and friendly. i would only give lessons to beginners and go no higher than teaching grade 2. i don't have any teaching experience i just wants to share my love of music and have fun doing it.
I am a University of Edinburgh student studying Social Anthropology in my first year. I have been playing saxophone (as well as guitar) for 10 years, and have achieved my Trinity Jazz Grade 8 with a distinction. I am a fair tutor and will be supportive in order for you to learn as effectively as possible.
Hello! I am a Bristol based musician and music teacher, currently completing my teaching qualification at Bath Spa University. Music is my passion and I love nothing more than being able to pass this to my students of all ages.
I am passionate about passing on my knowledge and skills, each lesson will be tailored to the individual for the interests or aspirations. I can teach jazz improvisation, classical, theory and harmony and instrumental technique. Additionally I can work towards ABRSM/Trinity grades. I continually reassess goals to make sure the student is challenged whilst keeping it fun and creative.
I am a young musician, currently studying the subject in college, looking to inspire and teach all ages the fundamentals of the saxophone and push you further into the world of music. I enjoy all genres of music and keen on use my knowledge to contribute however I can to the development of sax music around the world.
I am very much of the opinion that student-led learning is the most effective and most interesting for both pupil and teacher. Therefore, although there is a national curriculum, exam board schemes, etc., I am keen for pupils to direct their own learning through asking questions and developing their unique thoughts and opinions.
I have been playing for 8 years and passed my grade 8 classical in the summer of 2015. I can teach beginners of all ages. I would prefer to have students come to me, and I charge £8 for a 30 minute lesson. I have also passed my grade 5 theory, so I have a wide knowledge and understanding of notation and music in general, and I got an A* in GCSE music.
I use a variety of different pedagogical styles depending on the students reasons for learning. My approach with a performance post-graduate would be entirely different from that of a complete beginner or a child or an adult learner. I also understand that students have different learning styles and adapt my approach to accommodate this.
I am a creative, innovative teacher, always looking at individual pupil need before designing lessons. I use a variety of approaches, depending on my pupils needs and expectations. I have high levels of skill in English, music and art, and have also taught Maths to a lesser degree.
I approach teaching in a fun and exciting way, my lessons are easy to understand and I am to make each topic as interesting as possible.
I teach both children and adults who are beginners to intermediate (up to grade 8 saxophone and clarinet; grade 5 piano and flute). I teach a wide range of styles from classical to jazz and particularly enjoy teaching jazz improvisation. I am very patient and am keen to help build pupil's confidence. I have been teaching since 2011.
I work closely with younger students to provide a fun and productive learning experience for those who would like to learn to read music for a wind instrument, or would like to learn a wind instrument themselves. I find that the best way to learn is hands-on, with a balance between study and practising.
I can teach to the ABRSM syllabus or if you are not interested in grades I am more than happy to tailor lessons to your individual requirements. My aim is for pupils to become inspired to develop as a musician through creative and engaging learning, and for students to get as much music in their lives as possible.
University student looking to take on pupils who want to learn saxophone or improve their current playing, adult or child pupils. I’m looking for enthusiastic pupils with a love for the saxophone who want to learn in a more fun and casual way. My particular passion lies in classical playing, but I also enjoy teaching jazz. I’m happy to take on beginners or intermediate players.
I began learning music at the age of seven, and I haven't stopped yet. I have always believed that learning a Musical Instrument should be fun and enjoyable and I try to achieve this with my teaching. The lessons will be structured to suit your individual needs and this is something we would establish during your first lesson.
