About Jenn
Hello! I'm Jenn and thanks for checking out my profile! I am a singer/songwriter/pianist with two decades of experience with writing, performing, recording and collaborating with other artists - at times dancers and filmmakers.
I completed my undergraduate degree at SUNY Purchase in music composition. I then completed a Creative Arts and Health Certification at the New School. I recently obtained a Masters degree in Counseling from Goldsmiths University of London and I am now living in my original home of NYC and working toward completion of a Mental Health Counseling Advanced certification which will allow me to practice in New York. During my time living in London, I volunteered with Raw Material, a nonprofit that links music with underserved communities, where I've helped out with music workshops on psychiatric units.
I am passionate about bringing music into healing however I can. I see music as a tool of connection, growth, inspiration, passion and fun! It's helped me get through tough times in my life and has served as a connecting point for others. I am so excited to instill the intuitive piece of music writing into my students. I've facilated music and writing groups with various types of populations.
I taught myself to play music by ear and have a very intuitive connection with my own and others' music. I look forward to connecting intuitively over music - and any other type of creativity that may arise!

I studied Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase and did the music focus for a Creative Arts and Health Certificate Course at The New School. I have facilitated various types of music, writing and drama workshops with various adult populations, including professionals, therapeutic clients, and the elderly population in nursing homes. I worked as a Recreation Specialist at a facility serving formerly homeless residents with mental illness and led them through many creativity-based activities.
