About Samantha

I have a strong background in early childhood special education. I teach a special education preschool class and work as an early interventionist. I have my Master's in Early Childhood Special Education and Bachelor's in Communication Disorders.

I would love to create more opportunities for learning amidst the pandemic.

I have a strong passion around working with young children. I am inspired by their curious nature and enjoy being reminded of a different way to see the world. I admire children of differing abilities and their strong work ethic. I am very proud of the children that I work with who work so hard to learn new skills. We all have strengths and challenges and I enjoy seeing children grow not only across the developmental domains, but also holistically.

I have always had a passion to work with young children. I was originally interested in doing speech therapy with young children because I attended speech therapy for five years when I was young. After going through my undergraduate schooling and starting to volunteer and do internships I found my passion was in teaching children of all abilities.

I have my Master's in Early Childhood Special Education and Bachelors in Communication Disorders. I have taught a special education preschool class for three years and worked as an early interventionist for five years. Previous to these jobs I was a paraprofessional for 3 years in a variety of preschool settings.

I value a relationship-based teaching approach. Each child is unique and it is important to learn students personalities, strengths, and challenges. Once I am able to form a strong relationship we can tailor learning and find an approach that works for both your child and family.

I also stronly believe in making learning fun. At a young age this is often children's first experiences with learning and I want them to have foundation of a love for learning to carry throughout their schooling.

I have worked as an early interventionist for the past five years, working with children six months to three years old. I have also worked as a special education teacher working with children three to five years old. I have worked as a para-professional in both typical and special education preschool classes. I have worked with children of all different abilities, including children diagnosed with global developmental delays, speech and language impairment, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerbral Palsy.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
A huge part of early childhood is working with families, it is actually one of my favorite parts of the job. Please connect with me if you are interested in learning anything further, I would love to talk in more detail!

I typically charge $35 per hour session of one on one tutoring. Many young children are working on language and social skills so I am also interested in holding a small group at a time. This could be an intentional play-based group where we foster development together. With more children involved the price per child would decrease.
