About Samuel

With online basics for special education, students who are under an IEP or 504 are able to get in-depth training for basic online use. My service will provide students with encouragement and confidence when using an online platform. This can range anything from basic use of social media to creating your own website.

I believe what makes my platform really stand out is the fact that it is specifically for students with a special needs. House of belief it teaches a necessary skill in our current day and age.

I have had a passion for special education and technology ever since high school. Giving students the tools they need to succeed is something that gives me a sense of responsibility. From this point education is changing it's becoming more digitized, I want students with a special need or who have difficulty to feel confident when navigating our online world.

I got started teaching when I discovered a passion for working with students with disabilities in my high school. this gave me a lot of confidence going into college which fueled my college education in elementary education and special education.

After college I applied for many jobs around the metro Detroit and surrounding areas. As well worked in Washtenaw county schools. I interviewed for a job in Taylor Michigan, now I work with post-secondary students on transitioning to adulthood.

I am specially trained in working with special education physical impairments. I have a degree from Eastern Michigan University in elementary education and special education. Right now I'm working at a high school in Taylor teaching young adults the skills they need to move on into adulthood.

I'm a Google level 2 certified educator meaning I can teach across Google's various apps and various online tools. when working with me students will have proficiency with all things related to Google as well as basic navigation.

I work with cognitive impairments, emotional impairments and physical impairments. I can work with all ages all the way up to adulthood.

Meeting a new student can be different with everybody especially when that student has a disability. What I do to start is I use a little time to get to know the student. I want to figure out what the student strengths and weaknesses are. If I know the students strengths that gives me an easier time focusing the material on what they're good at.

I have worked with all types of students from general education to special education. In the special education field I have worked with physically impaired students, emotionally impaired students, cognitively impaired students, severely multiply impaired students and students with autism spectrum disorder.

I am also trained in general education elementary and I've worked with general education elementary, middle and high school students

My advice would be to have an opportunity to talk to the person whether that is over the phone online with the video chat or physically in person.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
For me a student should be honest with who they are. If your student with a disability hiding that from yourself and from others can cause you to dwell for years and years and years. My advice would be to take a hard look at what strengths you have and what are some of your weaknesses. I always remind students your strengths define much more about you than your weaknesses. As a teacher I can use a strength of a student to teach across any subject.
