About Katie
Hello! I’m an English Literature undergraduate at Durham University, currently in my first year. I achieved full marks (A*) in my English Literature A-Level, which reflects my deep understanding and passion for the subject. I also have two years of tutoring experience in both English and Maths. I’m dedicated to helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals through personalised, supportive lessons. I know that everyone learns differently, so I tailor my approach to suit each student’s needs and learning style. Having recently navigated the exam system myself, I can share practical strategies to improve essay writing, analysis, and exam technique. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy drama, sports, and travelling, which help me bring creativity, energy, and a broad perspective to my teaching. As an experienced English tutor, I tailor each lesson to suit the individual student. In our 60-minute sessions, we’ll begin by working through your previous essays together, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to strengthen your writing. Alongside this, we will complete practice and exam-style questions, and analyse pieces of literature together. I’ll provide personalised feedback, model answers, and practical tips for tackling tricky texts or boosting your essay structure.
