About Maya
I provide a very energetic and unique approach to swim lessons mixing my background as a lifeguard and a musical theatre actress to give my students a safe and exciting swim lesson
I love working hands on with my students and seeing their confidence in the water grow and grow throughout our time together!
I was a lifeguard for 2 years and a swim instructor at the YMCA and Rancho Simi Aquatic Center. I also have a Bachelors in Fine Arts from UCI.

I start our first and foremost making sure my student is comfortable in the water in the shallow end. We then bring in some important swimming fundamentals like floating and kicking through fun games. Once they have mastered fundamentals I take them to the deep end so they can bring all of their skills together and we start working on stroke technique.
