About Katie
I focus on strengthening fundamentals first, then developing advanced techniques. Aural skills and music theory are also an integral part of lessons, so come prepared to learn and grow as a musician! Whether you're just starting out, or if you're prepping for college auditions, I'm happy to help equip you with tools for success.
I studied Music Education in college, where I was in marching band, a touring brass group, and a professional orchestra (to name a few), and I even got to perform with Dallas Brass and the US Army Field Band before graduating high school.
I have been giving trumpet lessons for about 15 years, so I’m confident we can successfully work towards your practice and performance goals.
My favorite part of teaching is experiencing that moment when something clicks, then watching the excitement and growth happen from that point forward. Equipping students with skills to perform difficult pieces with a newfound confidence is incredibly fulfilling.
