I can teach up to University, diploma level on the French horn. Everything else (trumpet, trombone, recorder, piano, music theory) up to an intermediate level. I tend to have a variety in each lesson, allowing the pupil to have an active say in what they learn. I like to incorporate simultaneous learning as we progress through different stages.
I aim to make the learning of music as fun as possible, engaging my students. I hope to pass my profound passion for music onto my students. I believe that a good music teacher (be it instrumental or theory-based) should not simply teach the instrument. A good music teacher should give their student the tools to be able to work independently, ensuring a secure musical future after tuition.
I like to focus on the needs of each student and make them enjoy what they want to learn, from the first contact with music and the instrument to improve a more advance particular technical aspect. I am offering lessons to people from all ages, from kids to adults.
I offer 30 minute lessons for young children and/or beginners on the trumpet, trombone and other brass instruments. I also offer performance coaching and recital preparation for those on a degree or preparing for university. As a tutor, I am approachable, understanding and patient.

I have been playing trumpet for 16 years and was originally inspired to learn at school when watching an older student perform in concerts. I have achieved grade 8 trumpet and played in many musical ensembles at semi-professional level. I enjoy working with younger players and I'm comfortable teaching kids to learn the basics of practical trumpet playing and music theory.
College student (A level) teaches beginner students how to play brass instruments and music theory. The lesson structure will change based on what is being covered (I.e. playing an instrument or theory), theory- worksheets and workbooks, playing- technical exercises and piece to apply new skills.
I teach by getting to know how the student learns and working with what they respond best to. Encouragement and their own pace is key, with clear and regular goals to follow! Music should be both fun and rewarding.
I have gained experience in teaching students of all ages and levels during the last few years and I am very familiar with the process of taking students through ABRSM examinations in trumpet and theory. Moreover stage anxiety is a topic that I give a lot of emphases because music becomes real only when it is played in front of an audience.
My approach to teaching is very practical. I believe there is no better way to learn something than to try it. My target audience to teach would be budding musicians ready to start their learning in one of the instruments I can teach. For basic music theory, anyone who is a beginner would be perfect. This is the same for guitar and ukelele.
For anyone just starting or taking their grade 8 tomorrow I would be glad to teach you. I am a student at Leeds College of Music in my Second Year of studying Jazz Trumpet. I gig regularly and work as a self-employed musician as well. In lessons, I tend to teach my students as working towards their next grade in Music. I focus on technique, as well as the feel of the music, and try to help my students learn to play by ear, as that is one of the most important skills for a musician.
I teach beginning and intermediate musicians. My past students would describe me as patient, friendly, passionate, and creative. I love working with kids and starting their musical lives off on the right foot! My goal is to cultivate a lifelong enjoyment of music.
I am a peripatetic music teacher specialising in brass tuition for children and adults. I also teach beginner clarinet, saxophone, recorder and flute lessons. I believe in taking an active approach to music lessons. This means the student is very much an active participant.
My students will benefit from my many years of experience in developing software to help, and motivate efficient practice. Please go to the demo video I have prepared. You will see that: - A real time beat counter above the music notation will help keep time. - Recordings of what should be practised will help tuning whilst playing along with them.
I am quite happy teaching any brass player from beginners to more advanced and can tailor my teaching to meet their needs. I would generally assess the player first, then ask what they wish to get out of their lessons and finally make a practice schedule for them.
