About Sarah
I began practicing yoga in 2013 at home in front of YouTube videos. At the time, there was no yoga studio in my home town so online videos were my only option. I became diligent with my practice and a few years later in 2017 I took the leap to take my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. Since then, I have taught many classes, managed two yoga studios, and established my own business called Sarah Neighbors Healing. My business is centered around empowering my clients that they have the ability to heal themselves through meditation, yoga, reiki, and other holistic modalities. For me, yoga was the first step to a big lifechanging journey of healing and I have made it my mission to share that with as many people as I can! Currently, I am located within Firefly Yoga Studio at 310 Main Street in Danville, Va. Here I host in house yoga sessions purchased through Firefly Yoga, reiki sessions, sound healing, and more. My certiications include:

I began teaching after developing a passion for yoga after it helped me so much with my personal healing and development. I knew I wanted to share that feeling of empowerment with others so I took the leap to take my first yoga training. That first training inspired me to do more trainings and expand my offerings in a way that allows me to provide a unique perspective and experience to my clients.

When working with a new student, I like to ask questions about what their goals are, why they sought out private lessions, their experience with their practice so far, and what they want to get out of the lesson. This process allows me to map out how to design the lessons in a way that perfectly caters to their personal needs.
I have worked with a wide variety of ages and body types since I began teaching. The youngest being teens and the oldest being in their 60s-70s. Some are looking to learn the basics while others are looking to develop a more solid foundation in what they already know.
I would look into not only how long they have been teaching, but also how long they have been practicing and where they received their training from. I also think it's important to know that they still regularly practice themselves! Unfortunately, it's often that teachers lose their own practice routine after they began teaching (especially in the first year) and it's important to make that a priorty because it really does make you a better teacher!
I feel like I get a lot of these in my career, but the most recent event that comes to mind is a lady in my last class was able to find some flight time in a pose she's been working towards for months. It was so happy to see the look on her face when she caught a few moments of air in her crow pose!

60 minute private lessions hosted by Firefly Yoga are $65. For cases in which I would travel the price may vary based on distance.
