About Lakshmi Marfil
Hi :) I've been studying and teaching yoga for over 20 years. I received my Yoga Certification from Yoga Vidya Gurukul (Yogapoint) in Nasik, India and currently teach at Yoga Art Oasis in NYC (have been teaching there since 2009). I am in love with this practice and love sharing and teaching others, as it has improved the quality of my life and given me a path to wellness and peace.
In addition, I also traveled through India for 9 months in 2008, studying with yoga masters there. My first meditation class was when I was 13 and my first yoga class at 18yrs, so as you can imagine...It’s been a lifelong path that I love!
I love teaching and sharing my knowledge of Yoga. With over 20 years of practice, I know first hand how it can change one's life. The process of wellness and transformation are a beautiful journey to wholeness and the path to a fulfilling and healthy life! Who wouldn't be excited about sharing that with others and making a difference in their life, as well as improving the quality of their life!
I was certified in 2008 and began teaching Yoga at Yoga Art Oasis in NYC in 2009.
Teaching yoga for over 20 years and certified by Yoga Vidya Gurukul (Yogapoint) in Nasik, India. I am currently teaching at Yoga Art Oasis in NYC.

Beginners and Intermediate Adults and I also teach Kids Yoga.
Find someone who you feel comfortable with, someone who cares about your wellbeing and someone who has many years of experience. Also find someone who loves the practices and believes in it!!! Someone who has walked the path! Also, I would choose someone who has studied in India, as that offers a whole new level to the suthenicity of the practice and also approaches it from a spiritual point of view.
Graduating the top three in my Yoga class for certification. Touring with Amma the Hugging Saint from india and being in service to a greater good.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
All questions are welcome. The teacher/student relationship should be one of openness, confidence and authenicity. For me questions are a sign of intelligence, curiosity and a desire to go deeper into the practice. The teacher is the guide for the student and should be a place of love, compassion and kindness.
