About Sarah
I specialize in teaching Ashtanga Yoga, but as I come from a circus background, I love to explore traditional poses from all different angles. As Ive been workibg withing the Mysore method for many years, Ive learned to really see how to work with the energetic body as well as the anatomical. I approach learning from a fun and caring perspective, and can meet each clients goals wherever they are at in theor practice!
I have been practicing yoga for around 12, years and teachung for 7. I did a 200 hour teaher training with Richard Freeman as well as an advanced training studying the correlation between Yoga and Buddhism. I studied extensively with Zöe Slatoff at Ashtanga Yoga Upper West Side and assisted her for a year before moving to New Orleans, La. I have my own studio in New Orleans, but travel to NYC multiple times a year for long periods of time to sub for Zöe when she goes out of town. I have also taught on several yoga retreats including with the Sailing Collective and Sweet Retreats. I am currently working with Yoga Adventures Worldwide and will be teaching a retreat with them August 20-25 in Cuba.

Before working with a client, I gather information on their experience, goals, injures etc. before deciding what to work on. I can then either tesch them from scratch if they've never practiced yoga, or create a curriculum around whatever type of practice they are looking for.
