I am a very patient and friendly person who aims to teach young beginners to read music and to get used to playing the violin. I require the student to have their own violin when I give lessons (I can recommend the size if you are unsure), however I will provide all the music for the lessons. My first lesson will involve getting to know the student and teaching the very basics about the violin (for example, how to hold the violin and string names) My next lessons will then follow the student's independent needs and pace and I will make sure to to provide a comfortable atmosphere for the student to learn and develop.
As the student progresses I aim to help the student to improve on their tuning, accuracy and sight reading.
I am currently a third year student at the university of Dundee studying Scots and English Law. I have played the violin since I was 6 years old (now 19) and have played in lots of different orchestras and music groups both at school and while at university. I love playing the violin and would really like to share my enthusiasm and knowledge for playing by teaching complete beginners to not only play the violin but to read music as well.
