About Sofiia
I am a professional violinist currently studying for my Master’s degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Before moving to London, I studied at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and worked professionally as a first violin section member of the Estonian National Opera Orchestra.
Alongside performing, teaching has become an important part of my musical life. I currently teach violin at a music school in London and also have experience teaching privately in Ukraine and Estonia.
I really enjoy working with students and helping them discover their own connection with music. For me, teaching is not only about developing violin technique, but also about helping students become more confident, independent and expressive musicians. I particularly enjoy finding an individual approach for each student and seeing their progress over time.

I believe every student is different, so I adapt my lessons to each person’s age, level, abilities and goals. I work with both children and adults, from complete beginners to more advanced students.
In my lessons, I focus on developing a strong technical foundation, good posture, sound quality, intonation and musical expression. I always try to explain technical challenges in different ways and find the approach that works best for each student.
For younger children, I aim to make lessons engaging and encouraging while gradually developing concentration, confidence and good practice habits. For more advanced students, I can also help with repertoire, technique, auditions, exams and performance preparation.
Most importantly, I want my students to enjoy making music while progressing at their own pace.
