About Ankit
I am an AI engineer and educator with a strong dual background in theoretical mathematics and production software + AI Engineering.
I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Essex (High Merit) and an Integrated MSc in Applied Mathematics and Computing from IIT Roorkee, one of India’s premier institutes (admitted via the top 0.6% in the IIT-JEE Advanced).
Over the past four years, I have engineered large-scale backend systems, distributed data pipelines and Applied AI + machine learning models across high-growth tech environments. I am also the solo founder of MimWise, an educational AI platform actively used by university students to master technical subjects through structured feedback and active recall.
I teach because I know firsthand how intimidating advanced mathematics, algorithms and programming can seem when presented purely as abstract theory.
My goal is to bridge the gap between academic coursework and real-world intuition: helping students master first principles, build genuine problem-solving confidence and achieve their full academic and career potential

Hi, I’m Ankit. I hold an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Essex and an Integrated MSc in Applied Mathematics from IIT Roorkee (Top University in India, Acceptance < 1%).
Backed by 4+ years of industry software engineering and as the founder of MimWise: an educational AI platform used by university students. I bring real-world engineering standards to 1:1 tutoring, focusing on deep understanding rather than textbook rote memorisation.
My teaching is practical, structured, and hands-on. We break down complex STEM and programming concepts from first principles using live coding, clear visual logic and collaborative debugging. My approach is calm, patient and neurodivergent-friendly: we work at your pace with zero pressure, turning confusion and compiler errors into genuine confidence.
What I teach:
GCSE & A-Level: Computer Science, Mathematics and Further Maths; building strong mathematical intuition and algorithmic problem-solving skills.
University Undergrad & Postgrad: Python, Data Structures & Algorithms, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Backend + Data Engineering and hands-on coursework.
Practical Programming: Building software projects from scratch, clean code architecture and practical data engineering.
Sessions run for 60 or 90 minutes, online via screen-share or in person in Colchester.
