About Poppy

With 4 years of experience in tutoring, I specialise in SAT prep for high school and college students. My teaching style is a blend of structured lessons and innovative methods designed to make learning engaging and effective. I focus on not just mastering SAT content, but also developing essential skills in reading comprehension, writing, and mathematics. I incorporate real-world examples and case studies to ensure students understand the practical application of what they're learning. Flexibility is key in my approach, adapting lessons to each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning pace. I also emphasise effective test-taking strategies and time management, which are crucial for SAT success. My goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel confident and motivated to reach their goals. With a compassionate and patient approach, I help students overcome challenges and build the skills they need to excel not only on the SAT but in their future academic endeavours.

My teaching approach for SAT prep is centred around clear communication, cultural sensitivity, and real-world application. I believe in using real-life examples and case studies to help students grasp the concepts in a way that is both relatable and practical. Each student is unique, and I prioritise flexibility in my lessons to cater to individual learning styles, ensuring that we focus on areas where students need the most support. I integrate a variety of relevant subjects like reading comprehension, writing, and maths, which are key components of the SAT. By fostering an interactive, supportive environment, I help students build confidence in their abilities. I also emphasise effective time management and test-taking strategies, preparing students for success not only in the SAT but also in their academic journey. Compassion and patience are at the core of my teaching style, ensuring every student feels supported and motivated to achieve their best score.
