About Lydia
I am a Ph.D. candidate in Mythology with published papers in academic journals and contributions to book chapters. I tutor students one-on-one in essay writing, helping them develop clear thesis statements, structure persuasive arguments, and refine their work through guided editing. My discussion-based, hands-on approach empowers students to build confidence and become independent, self-sufficient writers. I work with learners from middle school through undergraduate levels, tailoring lessons to their goals and skill levels.

My lessons focus on working through writing together, exploring structure, and understanding what works and what doesn’t. Students complete their work independently and then bring it back for guided editing, allowing us to refine ideas and techniques collaboratively. This hands-on approach helps students build the skills and confidence to write effectively on their own, so they eventually become independent, self-sufficient writers.
