About Siobhan
Teaching flute has been my passion for the past 14 years. I have taught High School, College, and adult students, totalling around 150-200 learners. I believe music is more than notes and techniques—it is a way to express creativity, build confidence, and enjoy learning.
A memorable milestone in my career was mentoring a shy student to perform confidently at a community recital. My lessons combine patience, structured practice, and creative exercises to ensure students grow technically and creatively. I aim to help students develop both skill and passion, creating a love for music that lasts a lifetime.

I follow a student-centred approach to teaching flute that combines practical skills, creativity, and understanding. Using real-life examples and case studies, I make musical concepts relatable and easy to apply in performance. I focus on motivation, inspiring students to stay curious, confident, and enthusiastic about learning music.
Problem-solving is a key element of my methodology. I guide students through challenges in technique, rhythm, and expression, helping them develop independence and skill. Integrity is at the heart of my teaching, promoting discipline, honesty, and respect. My lessons are flexible, customised to each student’s pace, abilities, and goals.
In addition to flute, I teach related subjects like music theory and fundamentals to provide a well-rounded learning experience. This methodology ensures lessons are productive, engaging, and meaningful.
