My favourite part of teaching is encouraging children to think for themselves about why an answer is correct and not just tell them. This helps them to build confidence in the subject that they're studying. I think that reading around the subject is so useful for a deeper understanding of subjects especially at GCSE and A Level. However engaging your child in discussions of an academic nature and letting them explain how things work to you will help them to understand the concepts better.
My favourite quote is "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." - Einstein.
I can help your child to create study plans if necessary. I think a good way of teaching is using metaphors and analogies to simplify things. If children create their own examples they will remember the subject matter more easily. This is especially true for younger kids.
I am a university student studying Maths. I love my subject as well as Biology, Chemistry which I have As in at A-level and languages. I am fluent in both Italian and English.
I used to be part of several mentoring schemes in school. I would tutor Maths and French to students a couple of years below me as well as going to a primary school when I was in year 11 to teach year 2 students and extend their learning and understanding of maths. I would also help my classmates with their homework and classwork in Italian, Maths and Science.
