About John
I am a semi-retired Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand with over 30 years of practical experience. The majority of that experience was in insolvency and business reconstruction, which involved a significant component of hands-on bookkeeping and business management. This experience also included exercising leadership skills as a director at Ernst & Young, as a partner at BDO, and as the principal at the Business Physician, in the insolvency and reconstruction sections of those firms. This involved leading and being part of a range of different teams. In more recent years, I have carried on an online bookkeeping and BAS Agent business. I am a Xero Certified Advisor and successfully completed the BAS Agent Registration Skill Set Course, (TAFE NSW Digital). I am also an MYOB Partner. I had over 15 years of experience as a group leader, a facilitator (instructor) for the Chartered Accountants Program (CAANZ) and Advanced Insolvency Certification (ARITA).

My teaching approach is to apply practical experience to set course syllabus and materials in order to make sense of complicated material.
I work with students in both individual and group situations. This includes both structured reviews and focussing on individual problem areas with maximum flexibility.
