About Hugo
Hello! I’m Hugo, a final-year Medical Student at UCL and I have been teaching maths for the last 9 years. I had the pleasure of always having excellent mentors around me to motivate me to become excellent at Maths and I would like to share these experiences with others. I find pleasure in seeing topics 'click' when a student understands something and also reactions to achieving grades that they never thought were possible. I take a structured, results-driven approach, ensuring each student fully understands concepts from first principles while building confidence in their problem-solving skills. Lessons are conducted online via Zoom, providing a convenient and focused learning environment. I am committed to professional, reliable, and engaging tutoring that helps students reach their full potential.

My lessons are usually between 1-2 hours and tailored to the individual needs of each student, from KS1 through to GCSE. I take a structured approach, beginning with core concepts and building understanding from first principles, before moving to exam-style questions and worked examples. I encourage students to think actively and explain their reasoning, as this develops confidence as well as accuracy. Having achieved strong GCSE and A-level Maths results myself and now studying Medicine at UCL, I combine academic rigour with proven experience in helping students reach grades 8/9.
