About Rachael
For me, languages are a fascinating subject, and learning a foreign language opens up a door to a whole new world - you can be inspired by new cultures through books, films, artwork, and this is what I aim to do in teaching a language. There is a lot more to learning a language than vocabulary and compound tenses, and I find that once students realise how enriching learning a new language and about it's culture can be, they fall in love with the process and the ways in which they can use this new tool, and quite often, students think...one stop at one language? This was certainly the case with me!

Lessons will be catered to an individual's needs, whether that be grammar, vocabulary, or general conversation skills. Typically ranging from 45 minutes to an hour, lessons will be based on different themes (education/leisure/family/specific interests of the student) to help increase the range of vocabulary. In my lessons I aim to be fun and dynamic, with a lot of focus on speaking the target language as this an area which is often neglected in language teaching.
As a language graduate myself, I understand the problem areas of learning a language and have found a number of techniques to tackle them. I also have spent time in France teaching English in schools and in a private language centre to students of all ages and levels.
My lessons are aimed at students of GCSE and A-level.
