About Zoe
I am 21, and have been painting for years now, specialising in oil painting. I took an art foundation and currently am studying at Goldsmiths, and achieved full marks in both my Art GCSE and Alevel so have a thorough idea of how to approach coursework, sketchbooks and exams.

GCSE AND ALEVEL PREP:
I have spent most my life painting so am a very experienced painter, but have also spent much time exploring other materials and techniques including different forms of drawing, digital (eg photoshop work), screen-printing, prints, textiles, spray paint, ceramics and even stained glass.
I feel with a subject as creative and unique to the individual art, I'd hope to use my lessons to share expertise, inspire, and be inspired by, the student`s growing individual practice - however, I know for many older students taking exams, this can be sidelined as exam stress takes over, and I therefore see the importance in structuring lessons that thoroughly tackles the exam strategies.
As a recent graduate of sixth form, I am very well versed in the Art exam systems for GCSE and Alevel, and am very familiar with how to score top marks in coursework, including sketchbooks, and having achieved an A* in both Alevel and GCSE, in which I scored 100%.
If the student is at a younger age and therefore less focused on exams, we can devise a lesson plan that is more practically, or theoretically based around their individual artistic interests.
As specified above, my approach differs in accordance to the level of study of the student. I would arrange a pre-lesson phone call to arrive prepared.
For example some students may want advice regarding their sketchbooks and portfolio, and I could offer a one-off, or a group of, consultations with thorough advice concerning exam techniques, and securing a higher grade. This advice could consist of a range of aspects, for example sources and artists to look at and reference to, or a scheduled timetable of how to improve and develop the sketchbooks pragmatically.
RECREATIONAL
Other students may be more interested in a recreational approach, and/or learning practical techniques and this really depends on the individual. Once again, we would discuss this before the lesson. It is hard to set out exactly how this works, as its extremely dependant on what the student wants to learn. For example, I would be able to supply oil paints for a taster oil painting session, but for a larger scale project the student may have to buy their own materials - or I would supply them at an added rate. If someone wanted to come for an oil painting session, we could either spend a one off day/ half a day painting on a canvas/ introducing painting styles (I could supply materials), or we could work on a continuous project over a period of time!
