About Charlotte
I have a first class BA in Art History from the University of Nottingham, and was granted a best in class award due to setting up a student led curatorial group Crop Up Gallery.
I went on to achieve an MA from the prestigious Courtauld Institute in London, curating a student show at the gallery. I spent year interning and different galleries including Whitechapel Gallery, ICA and Artnet in New York, and then went on to work in a top commercial gallery in Central London for 3 years.

I approach the subject by looking at broader socio-political, cultural and historic events that provide context for understanding why and how we understand different periods and movement in art history and how they came about.
I have a specific interest in British art from 1910, European Modernism from 1860-1920 and Visualisation of the body including the male gaze and Feminist movements. I also have a keen interest in early cinema and moving image.
I encourage students to independently think and question the current ideology and narrative of art history so that they can become more aware of the the underrepresented, overlooked and forgotten periods of history, cultures and individuals.
