About Ellie
I’m a first-class English Literature graduate and current Master’s student in International Relations, with a genuine passion for helping students develop confidence and independence in their studies. Alongside my academic work, I’ve been a teaching assistant in English at Keighley College and a research assistant at the Universities of Huddersfield and Oxford, experiences that have strengthened both my communication and mentoring skills. My background allows me to bring academic rigour and approachability to my lessons. I understand the challenges students face, from essay writing to literary analysis, and I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each individual’s goals. Whether you’re preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, or looking to improve your academic writing, I aim to create a supportive environment where you can grow in skill and confidence.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and supportive. I focus on helping learners build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and write with clarity and precision. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether that’s improving essay structure, analysing literature effectively, or preparing for GCSE and A-Level exams. I draw on my academic background as a first-class English Literature graduate and current Master’s student in International Relations, as well as my experience as a teaching assistant at Keighley College and research assistant at the Universities of Huddersfield and Oxford. This has given me a strong understanding of both effective communication and how to make complex ideas engaging and accessible. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I can adapt the length and focus depending on the student’s needs. I have experience working with GCSE and A-Level students, and I particularly enjoy helping those who want to improve their essay writing, exam performance, or confidence in English Literature and Language. My teaching style is friendly, encouraging, and interactive. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, exploring ideas, and developing independent thinking skills that will benefit them well beyond the classroom.
