About Liza
Hi! I’m Liza, a First Class Honours BA English Literature (Industrial) graduate from the University of Leeds.
I’m passionate about helping students feel more confident in their studies. Having achieved strong results throughout my own education, I understand the importance of having a tutor who can make challenging topics feel manageable and engaging.
I enjoy teaching because I find it incredibly rewarding to see students grow their understanding and confidence. I want to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning at their own pace. Whether you are preparing for an exam or simply looking to improve your skills, I’m here to help you reach your goals.

My approach to tutoring is friendly, patient and adaptable.
I begin each lesson by identifying the student’s needs and goals, then explain key concepts clearly before using guided questions, examples and practical tasks to reinforce understanding.
I structure lessons into parts: explanation, practice and feedback. I leave time at the end to review progress and address any questions. Lessons are usually around one hour.
I have previous experience tutoring 11+ and entrance-exam pupils in maths and verbal reasoning, working with small groups and adapting lessons to different levels of attainment. I can tutor students preparing for 11+ and entrance exams, as well as GCSE, A Level and university-level English Literature.
