As a university undergraduate, I am easily capable of teaching A-level (Level 3 equivalent) History but would be more than happy to share my knowledge of degree level History (Level 4 equivalent),
In my lessons, I endeavour to be as interactive as possible as I strongly believe from my experience in learning that an enthusiastic and inclusive tutor is almost always the greatest kind.
I will cover writing and referencing skills as well as the historical content itself, while always maintaining a focus on what the student wants/needs to learn. I have learnt about a huge range of history in the past, touching on history from the dawn of civilisation in Ancient Egypt to the current affairs of the modern, information era.
I am a second year History undergraduate at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. A strong passion for my subject is evident in the top grades I have achieved in my class. While new to teaching History, I have experience in teaching the English language to students while I lived abroad in Tokyo, Japan, and often dabbled in historical topics in these lessons.
Another piece of experience, despite my short life so far, I have is my long history in the public speaking field where I have conducted speeches and presentations on a variety of subjects in front of audiences ranging from ten to two thousand people. This has increased my confidence in dealing with people.
I am currently studying a History degree at the University of East Anglia. I have now started my second year after passing the first year with ease. In my degree, I enjoy researching and gathering information from various sources and presenting it in a logical, coherent manner. Meanwhile, I have just started a distance-learning Economics A-Level with the Oxford Learning College which I find thoroughly informative, particularly in the historical context of Economics.
The Debating Society was a source of enjoyment last year, and I frequently presented cases for different historical and current issues. In the past I also received informal training in public speaking and often presented speeches in front of over one hundred people. Occasionally, this audience increased to a number of around two thousand.
In my Business Studies and Economics course in secondary school, our class was instructed to create a fully-functioning corporation. Taking on the role of Managing Director, I led a team to achieve our goals as well as learning to communicate effectively in order to draw out the best side of people.
I passed my Level Two Functional Skills in Information Computer Technology and continue to use technology in my University Degree as well as in everyday life. I use a wide variety of computer programs to achieve the best quality of work in my teaching and my degree.
Meeting new people is enjoyable for me and I have the ability to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups from all different backgrounds and cultures. This is evident from my work in Tokyo, Japan, where I taught English with the local people in order to encourage and enable them to use English in everyday conversation. I worked with people from a wide array of nationalities and backgrounds here.
