About Mackenzie
I am a first year at sheffield Hallam studying biomedical science and moving onto a medical degree at uni of Sheffield. I started giving tutor sessions at my schools to younger students at GCSE level. I have currently BBC in my a-levels in chemistry, economics and biology respectively.

My attitude to teaching is that everyone is different , no two people will take in information or revise in the same way. I have many revision techniques for any student who's finds this a problem when it comes to exams. as a first year student, I remember the pressure of A-levels and stress they can bring. I know that I can relate to what students are going through and will be able to relate to students of all ages.
firstly, I like to make sure that I fully understand the needs/requirements of the student. Before their session, I like to know which topics they would like to discuss and what parts they're struggling with so that I can prepare full notes, along with questions and activities. Starter questions are very important during my sessions in order to see how the student handles them, then towards the end of the session, I like to ask similar questions in order to make sure that the student has grasped the tutorial. For me, the most important aspects of tutoring are to make sure that the student gains an understanding of something they previously found challenging; they feel comfortable and confident talking to me and that they have enjoyed the session.
