About Vivian
Hi! My name is Vivian, and I am a first-year university student who is passionate about helping students feel more confident in math and science. I understand that these subjects can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, so I strive to create a supportive and comfortable environment where students can learn at their own pace.
I have experience working with children through a variety of volunteer opportunities, including being a teaching assistant and participating in programs that support children and pediatric patients. I also founded my own youth-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and giving back to the community. These experiences have taught me to be patient, responsible, encouraging, and comfortable working with children of different ages and personalities.
I have a strong academic background in math and science and can tutor elementary and high school students. Whether a student needs help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for a test, practicing questions, or building stronger foundations, I am happy to work with them and adapt my lessons to their individual needs.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident and comfortable with what they are learning.

My goal is to make learning feel less stressful and more enjoyable. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to their age, learning pace, and individual needs. I focus on explaining concepts clearly, breaking difficult topics into smaller steps, and giving students plenty of opportunities to practice and ask questions.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material, followed by an explanation of the new concept. We then work through examples together before having the student try questions independently. I adjust the difficulty based on their understanding and finish by reviewing key ideas and identifying anything they may need more practice with.
What sets me apart is my experience working with children through different volunteer programs. I have been a teaching assistant and have worked with younger students in educational settings. I have also volunteered with programs supporting children and pediatric patients, and I founded my own youth-led nonprofit dedicated to supporting children. These experiences have helped me become patient, encouraging, and comfortable working with children of different ages and personalities.
I offer tutoring for elementary and high school students in math and science. I can help students strengthen their foundational skills, keep up with their classes, prepare for tests, complete practice questions, or become more confident in subjects they find challenging.
