I regularly help my nieces and nephews study too.
Currently a student at a pastry school.

I start with the basics and the letters. Letters each day and then move onto words after which I introduce grammar and sentences. Hindi requires the understanding of the gender of things because even non living things are classified into he, she, it. The sentences change according to this and this is introduced later. By this point you'd be able to form and understand sentences in Hindi.
