About James
I am an enthusiastic and collaborative teacher, passionate about helping students reach their goals.
I have a diverse academic past, which includes graduate and postgraduate qualifications in Classics (BA), History (MSc), and Linguistics (MA). In addition, I have spent the last 3 years of my professional life building software for research applications in London and Edinburgh.
I provide tuition for:
English Language (up to A-level)
Computer Science (up to GCSE)
Latin (up to GCSE)
History (up to GCSE)
I also offer private tuition in Vietnamese language, for the rare interested student!

Every student has different skills, knowledge, and goals. I start by working with my students to figure out where they want to be, and what the most effective steps are that we can take to get there, whether that's more practice with active knowledge or analytical skills.
I have extensive experience tutoring in-person, including 2 years as a tutor of Academic English as a Foreign Language, and 1 year of primary English & Mathematics. I am very eager to meet new students here!
Lessons will typically be 1-2 hours, but flexible.
