About Ali
I started my career as a journalist, interviewing ministers, executives and community leaders and learning how to ask the right questions. At 30, I made a big career change and moved into strategic communications. I know what it feels like to start again, prove yourself and learn the unwritten rules of a new workplace.
Since then, I've spent more than 12 years at a multinational strategic communications agency. Today I'm a director, advising governments and senior executives across the Gulf and Australia. My work covers media relations, thought leadership, reputation management and stakeholder engagement, in both English and Arabic.
I studied at Monash University, hold professional certifications in stakeholder engagement (IAP2) and communication measurement (AMEC), and serve on the board of IABC NSW Hunter and Coastal.
I teach because I wish someone had shown me these skills earlier. My lessons give you what took me years to learn, so you can use it from your very first job.

Emails, messages and cover letters that are clear, short and professional, using your own drafts.

6. Office Politics 101
Read the room, understand who really holds influence, avoid gossip traps and protect your reputation.
7. Difficult Conversations
