I always work together with students to set targets for the achievement of their specific goals so that they can monitor their progress and focus on attaining the grade they need. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I spend most of my time preparing individuals for professional exams in specialist medical areas, such as the MRCP, MRCS, GPAKT and CSA and FRCA exams.
My teaching method is to adapt to the student. Everyone learns in different ways. I firstly establish how best the student learns information and capitalise on this in order to ensure full comprehension of topics. I am friendly and approachable and will answer any queries to the best of my ability. Lessons will take the direction which will best help the student and tailored to their needs.
I would approach each topic by gauging how much my student already knows about the given topic and assessing how comfortable they seem with it in order to determine the pace of teaching I should move forward with. I aim for the student to be as actively engaged in a topic as possible.
I have found that the reason many students fail to understand a topic is due to incorrect teaching methods. I believe that each individual learns in their own unique way. Hence as a tutor I first determine what works for each of the students and plan the teaching to match each individual`s learning style.
I tutor using a variety of methods: discussion, presentation, video and analysis of case-reports. I typically tutor on a 1:1 basis but am open to tutoring 2 people at a time. I tutor at your home unless a neutral location is preferred.
I have a passion for teaching and working with children. I had a very hard time in school struggling with ADD and dyscalculia while trying to maintain good grades, until in my sophomore year I was lucky enough to work with an amazing teacher who changed the way I worked and studied and made school much easier for me.
When working with students towards an exam or an assessment I think there are three particular areas of importance that need to be properly tackled. Firstly, ensuring student confidence in and understanding of the subject matter and course content itself. Secondly, the development of academic skills such as essay writing, and critical reading and evaluation.
I can offer lessons for anyone studying psychology up to and including degree level. The lessons will consist of a basic structure which include key information, exercises and summary of the information taught in the lesson. Goal setting will be a big part of the learning process so the student will feel like they are in control of their learning speed.
I teach using a range of different methods which will hep you arrive at the same answer. It will be your decision to explore and choose which one you like. For example, creating presentations, resources, doing time based exercises or group talks. The important thing is that my lessons will be tailored to your sociology exam syllabus.
My teaching method is very hands on and practical. I bring a lot of energy and passion for the subjects I teach. From primary basics, through to intellectually stimulating A-level contents. Starting very lesson with what you know, and ending every lesson with what you now know.
I have taught in Further Education and Sixth Form Colleges. My teaching method is to encourage students to be active participants in their own learning and educaton through discussions, research and choosing examples that are relevant and interesting to the Learner.
Whilst drawing upon my psychological methods of learning styles I always take an individual approach. I'll get to know you and your learning style whilst thinking about your learning needs, setting achievable goals to work towards and review regularly.
I am capable of bringing out the best in my students using tried and tested methods gained over the course of my 10+ years as a professional private tutor.
My teaching methods differ from person to person. I tend to ask the individual how they prefer to learn, and if they don't know, try out a couple of methods until we find the right one. I usually give a 'recap' at the end of each of my sessions to go over the main points.
I approach tutoring in the same way I would approach working with an athlete. I teach by questions, helping you to find the answers rather than simply giving it to you.
I give lessons to primary and secondary students; also to students who are about to start their AS levels and want to get ahead. My lesson structures usually consist of the student choosing a topic to begin and slowly giving them information about the topic, making sure they understand the content at each stage. I usually end my sessions with practice questions to ensure understanding.
I am a 21 year old female Criminology and Politics graduate available to teach Sociology at GCSE, A Level and University level. Creating a fun and relaxed working environment to target areas of weakness and improve academic writing skills and revision techniques.
I want to get to know you! and your passions in media and incorporating that into your work in order to make the work enjoyable.
I have been giving lessons in GCSE Mathematics to a 13 year old student. We sat together and decoded the specification and took each topic, taught the topic to one another, the student was then tested on the topic (tests ranging from easy to difficult) and if the student was comfortable with the topic, we then moved on.
Best example I can give for RE/RS/Philosophy and ethics is to first go over the topic in detail for knowledge, then break the topic down to a few key points like, main idea, founder, quotes and examples. I would then go over how you would approach an exam question on the topic.
I have a student-centered approach to teaching where the student and teacher have an equally active role in the learning process. I like to break down information and come up with fun and easy ways to understand and remember it and tailor my teaching to each individual.
I can offer extra support for students, breaking down any module in psychology, into a concise and easy to learn experience. I can do this through presentations, academic research handouts and enabling the student to gain familiarity with the modular content, through mock exam preparation and research skills enhancements.
Every learner is different and has their own way of learning and understanding subjects. I aim to discover which learning methods work best for each individual and plan lessons using the method that suits each learner. I have taught in high schools, sixth form, college and foundation entry degree levels. I have experience in working with students who have learning disabilities.
I try to keep my lessons as fun and interesting as possible, and, as I mentioned before, I teach mostly GCSE level students. My lessons are structured and based around the strengths of my student to encourage confidence. As a student myself, I believe that I relate to my students well, and have all of my knowledge fresh in my memory to pass on to others.
Hello! I would be able to provide history lessons from GCSE to A level which would be tailored to my student and their unique learning style. I like to have fun with history but most of all I want my students to achieve and improve their grades.
My teaching method is mainly casual and conversational. Especially when teaching English as a foreign language, it is about building confidence by speaking with someone who is personable yet constructive. I can tailor my sessions and meetings to specific needs/requirements.
My teaching method is very trust based as I will teach and assist with any questions the student has about their course and will give assignments but i expect my students to be trusted to work independently and have the courage to ask questions, know how to ask for help and hand in work or complete tasks within deadlines.
I always try to find out what my students are involved with and interested in and try to relate the topic areas to that, so that they can understand the concepts fully and explore it from a place of interest as I realise a lot of the concepts can be difficult to grasp initially
I like to build rapport with each student so I better understand thier current knowledge and interest in the subject matter. From there I can best evaluate how to go about teaching the student in a client centred way that meets thier current ability and level of engagement.
My method of teaching is to teach to the level the person learning is at, and build from there. It is important to have a goal to aim for, and to understand where you are in relation to that goal so that appropriate lessons can be planned out .
