About Daniel
I studied Philosophy at the University of Cambridge (BA, First Class; MPhil with Distinction) and the University of Oxford (DPhil). I have over 25 years' teaching experience across all the core areas of philosophy at leading UK universities, including Oxford and London. I have published widely on the history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, ethics and aesthetics, with books published by Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press. Alongside my international research profile, I am passionate about helping students think critically, write clearly and fulfil their academic potential. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for philosophy while helping students develop the analytical, writing and critical thinking skills needed to excel in examinations, university study and Oxbridge admissions.

As a former Oxford lecturer and admissions tutor with over 25 years of university teaching experience, I know what examiners and admissions tutors are looking for. I combine academic rigour with a supportive, engaging teaching style. Lessons focus on developing analytical thinking, essay-writing, argumentation and exam technique, while Oxbridge applicants receive specialist guidance on personal statements, admissions tests and interviews. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to foster genuine intellectual confidence and a lasting enthusiasm for philosophy. Typical lessons last 60–90 minutes, with structured feedback and personalised study plans to ensure steady progress.
