About Catherine
I have a degree in Sociology and my minor is in Childhood education. I have worked with children for more than 15 years, five of which I taught in my own classroom. I am proficient in teaching reading and elementary math. I am also ESL certified and have worked with students whose official language was one other than English. Teaching English requires repetition and rigor. Teaching English is where my motivation lies. I have many friends that speak languages other than English, and I have helped some with English grammar and have helped increase their ability to speak English through regular conversations. If you are interested in learning English, I am your person.

I make sure there are lesson plans that's geared towards the needs of my students. I try to make lessons both interesting and fun. I like to begin lessons with an icebreaker. It's a nice way to set the tone for the lesson ahead. After, reviewing previously taught materials helps to recall information and is a nice way to continue on to what will be learned next.
