About Soraya
I want to teach because I love languages! Though I'm only tutoring Spanish, I also speak Irish, Arabic, Persian/Farsi, and occasionally French and Portuguese as I lived in Portugal too.
Spanish is a wonderful language but I didn't always love how it was taught in the Irish school system. I'm here to help to add to that and knuckle down on the bits and pieces you aren't quite getting in class- be it focusing on certain grammar conjugations or practicing (a lot!) for the oral. Confidence in speaking is the main thing that helps you to learn a language at an exponential level.

My approach is mostly oral- and listening-based as the school system in Ireland typically lacks that. Each lesson will be specific to the student and curated based on their needs. Lessons can be one or two hours long, with a short break if the two-hour session is chosen.
I have studied Spanish for 10 years, achieving an A in the junior certificate and a H1 in the leaving certificate. For the academic year of 2022/2023, I lived near Madrid and studied at the University of Valladolid, and in September of '23 I will be starting my final year of a BCL in Law and Spanish. My experience is actually in tutoring English as a foreign language, and I have completed a TEFL course. Though they are different, the skills in tutoring overlap.
As mentioned previously, my lessons are available for all ages and can be for complete novices (A1 level) up to intermediate (B1 level).

Details
The first class is free as it mostly is about meeting the student and getting to know what they want out of our sessions! It's an opportunity for us to meet and decide if we're a good fit for each other.
