About Dan

I studied History and International Politics at undergraduate level and went on to complete an MA in History at the University of Birmingham.

I love helping students feel more confident, understand tricky topics, and build the skills needed for strong essays and exams. Whether you’re aiming high or feel totally lost, I adapt each lesson to suit you.

About the lesson

My lessons focus on making things simple, manageable and engaging. I help students by:

✓ Breaking topics down so they actually make sense
✓ Teaching step-by-step essay planning
✓ Using model answers to show what examiners like
✓ Giving clear, supportive feedback
✓ Building confidence through guided practice
✓ Tailoring every lesson to your needs and exam board

I want students to finish each lesson feeling more confident than when they started.

Experience

I’ve supported lots of students aiming for everything from a solid pass to top grades. Common things I help with include:

• Struggling with essay writing
• Not knowing how to revise
• Feeling overwhelmed by content
• Needing structure before mocks/exams
• Wanting more confidence in arguments and analysis

Progress is usually quick once we work on clear structure and exam technique.

What You’ll Get From Lessons

You’ll develop:
– Better essays
– Clearer arguments
– Stronger analysis
– Focused revision
– Real exam confidence
– A proper understanding of your topics

First Lesson (Free)

In your free first session, we’ll:
• Chat about your exam board and goals
• Look at any recent essays or notes
• Identify strengths and areas to work on
• Build a clear, personalised plan going forward

No pressure, just a relaxed session to see how we work together.
