About Reuben
I know that maths can sometimes feel frustrating or intimidating, but I genuinely believe that anyone can improve with the right support and approach. Through working hard at maths myself, I’ve been fortunate enough to apply it in some really interesting and rewarding areas within engineering, and it’s opened doors to opportunities and careers that I once thought were out of reach. Strong maths skills can make a huge difference to future education and career options, and I don’t think someone should feel held back from the path they want because they lack confidence in the subject or struggled with it at school.
I was trained as a tutor through the charity Tutor Trust, where I developed experience supporting students with different learning styles and confidence levels. Since then, I have continued tutoring privately, helping students improve both their understanding of maths and their exam performance.
I aim to make lessons supportive, clear, and approachable, helping students build confidence as well as improve grades. Whether you are aiming for top marks, trying to pass an important exam, or simply wanting maths to feel less overwhelming, I’ll work with you to help you get there.

My lessons are designed to build confidence, improve problem-solving skills, and help students achieve strong exam results.
I adapt my teaching style to each student’s needs and learning pace. I focus on explaining concepts clearly, working through examples step-by-step, and using exam-style questions to strengthen understanding and technique. I also aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in maths.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, although longer sessions can be arranged if needed. I can help with general maths improvement, revision, homework support, and exam preparation.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities, whether they are aiming to boost grades, prepare for exams, or gain a stronger understanding of difficult topics.
