About Hilda
Hi I’m Hilda! I have just graduated high school last year from New Zealand and am currently living in Australia studying full time at Village Nation Performing Arts! I have had experience in piano since the age of 5 and have had numerous performance and exam opportunities since. I am passionate about making sure that all my students I teach feel accomplished, motivated and encouraged after our lessons where I pride myself in creating a comfortable space to ask any questions, discuss any struggles or have a giggle when needed! I truly want the best experience for my students when learning from me, and can assure that while simultaneously having fun and support in my classes, they will also reach their fullest potential as a result of hard work and become the best pianist they can be with a basic knowledge of music theory!

My personal approach to private tutoring piano is to ensure that all my greatly developed skills over the years are able to be put to use to help a student achieve their fullest potential. I assure I will encourage my students to always work their hardest in my lessons, unlocking piano techniques, skills and confidence that they may have not imagined was achievable, all while developing a friendly and supportive relationship with them. It is clear I have valuable experience in both piano, and other performing aspects such as dancing, and I also am very confident in teaching. My approach to lessons will consist of the structure of warming up, explaining important piano principles eg finger placement and music sheet music reading (for beginner students if needed,) basic scales and arpeggios etc, working through a song with a student over a matter of weeks so they get opportunity to see their own improvement and broaden their repertoire, then some sight reading. Over the course of weekly lessons with students, I will work with them to set both short term and long term goals to act as motivation and become the best pianist they can be.
