About Alexandra
Hi, I’m Alexandra — a fully qualified secondary Science teacher specialising in Biology and Chemistry, with a background in Biomedical Science and Molecular Genetics.
Before moving into teaching, I worked in scientific research, which means I don’t just teach students what to memorise for exams — I help them understand how science actually works in the real world. I’ve now spent several years teaching National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and GCSE students in the classroom, so I know exactly what exam boards expect and how to help students gain marks where it matters most.
I’m passionate about making science feel clear and approachable. Many of my students come to me feeling overwhelmed or lacking confidence, and my goal is always the same: break things down simply, build skills step-by-step, and help them realise they’re more capable than they think.
Alongside academics, I care strongly about wellbeing and support. With experience in safeguarding, mentoring and coaching, I create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My tutoring focuses on building confidence, exam technique and clear explanations, breaking complex topics into simple, manageable steps. I tailor every session to the individual learner, whether they need support catching up, boosting grades, or aiming for top marks.
With strong safeguarding and pastoral experience, I create a calm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes — because that’s where real learning happens.
I can offer 1 hour to 3 hour sessions, via Microsoft Teams, or in person if based on the Isle of Man.
