About Ben
Before settling down and becoming a teacher, I worked as professional crew aboard tall ships. Naturally, one of my favourite books is Moby Dick. I also love the work of Patricia Lockwood, Kazuo Ishiguro, Evelyn Waugh... too many to name! When I'm not reading or teaching, I love spending time with my kids, and seeing as much live music as possible.

Our lessons together are based on fitting your needs with the demands of the subject. My method breaks down the skills of English analysis into clear thinking steps, giving students confidence at each phase of reading and writing. Lessons are 60 minutes. PGCE and QTS (2014) 10+ years of tuition experience GCSE Examiner (English Lit) since 2017 MA with Distinction in English (2024) 11+ GCSE A-Level Undergraduate
