About Kathleen
With a background in teaching and a love for my mother tongue, I have found passion in tutoring people in Spanish & English over the years. My family moved from Colombia to Australia when I was 6. Growing up I have had the pleasure to keep both Colombian & Australian culture rich in my life. My mother ensured I kept my Colombian culture by moving me back to Medellin when I was 12 and only ever speaking to me in Spanish- This means that now I speak English like a true-blue Aussie and Spanish like a Paisa! Upon returning to Australia at the age of 18, I studied Spanish and began giving classes to stay connected to my Colombian culture & language. Over the years I have developed a fun and empowering lesson structure, that keeps my students focused and inspired in achieving their language goals. I believe in engaging students in a positive & exciting way so they can harness their natural ability to listen and learn, at the highest level! My classes are online focused but as I am based between Adelaide/Melbourne, I prioritize face-to-face learning with local students.

Lessons are structured and tailored to the individual's Spanish speaking level, interests & goals. All students who complete two months will gain the toolbox to speak confidently & read like a native. Program specializes in beginner's Spanish – learning basic conversational vocabulary. You will be able to speak at an intermediate level in just 2 months! Exercises on pronunciation enable you to pronounce words with a near-native accent. Fun and interesting lessons take inspiration from current and historic Latin culture - exploring music, food, and especially Colombian culture. Learn in person across Melbourne/Adelaide & online! Hands-free learning includes take-home recordings which you can access at any time. Goal setting, monthly conversational & written testing ensures progress and maintains momentum.
