About Sylvia
I provide a relaxed environment for people of all ages wanting to learn the ukulele. With more than 15 years' experience playing, performing opens mics and on festival stages, I have lots to share about my ukulele journey and my teaching style is very adaptable to different needs. I have been teaching groups and private students for over 10 years and enjoy helping people discover the joy and versatility of this great little instrument.

Lessons are taught in a fun and practical way and you will learn to play chords, strumming, and fingerpick melodies using a variety of genres and songs; all from the comfort of your own home. All you need is your ukulele and you're ready to go! Specific aspirations and needs will be considered, and you will be encouraged to develop your personal style. I focus on teaching playing techniques and having fun with performance rather than getting too caught up in theory; However, I always provide a solid foundation of the basic theory essentials.

I've been learning with Sylvia for seven years now and through her guidance I've made significant progess.
She's friendly, fun and engaging, and she motivates me to practice and improve. Her lessons are well prepared with a wealth of materials to draw on. Most importantly, they are really tailored to my skills and specific wishes. We often work on songs that I requested, and she always finds something new for me to learn.
I also like that she's pretty flexible with scheduling - if I can't make a session, we usually find another time that works for the both of us.
